ABOUT ME

Willie is a pre-licensure intern. Borkai has worked in many areas in the behavioral health field including outpatient, in-patient, residential, and community-based. These experiences have given Borkai a well-rounded view of the field.

Borkai describes himself as an advocate. He understands that people may not always be able to help themselves or have the voice to speak up. He is often helping others by filling in the gap.

As a therapist with several marginalized identities, Borkai understands the effects that disparities have on our mental health and well-being. He takes the humanistic, existentialist, feminist, and multiculturalism approach to counseling. As your therapist, he will collaborate with you on making the hard things easier to sit with.

Borkai is interested in trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, LGBTQIA+ topics, etc. There are various treatment modalities that will fit your needs. He will provide the tools on how to minimize your symptoms. He is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

He takes the patient-centered approach. I believe that building a trusting relationship is very important in the therapeutic space. Therefore, he aims to create a safe and secure space where my clients can be their authentic selves. He welcomes you to take this journey of healing with me. He cannot promise it is going to be easy, but he knows it is going to be worth it.
