ABOUT ME

Welcome! I’m Shannon, and I’m so glad you’re here. It’s a privilege to walk alongside you on your journey of healing, self-discovery, and growth. I’ve been through my own struggles with trauma, so I get how difficult it can be to ask for help. My personal experiences shape how I work—creating a space where you can show up as you are, explore what’s meaningful to you, and reclaim parts of yourself with kindness and confidence.

In our work together, I focus on honoring your individual stories and experiences because I believe everyone’s path is valuable. I’m committed to decolonizing mental health care, which means moving past traditional, Eurocentric frameworks and embracing approaches that are culturally sensitive and inclusive. This commitment comes from my belief in equity, justice, and ensuring that mental health support is accessible to everyone.

I have a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and a dual bachelor’s in Elementary and Special Education from Arcadia University. I also spent years teaching in Philadelphia, where I learned so much about diverse communities and the complexities of human development. These experiences help me support clients with a holistic perspective and understand the different stages of life and the factors that shape who we become.

My approach combines various therapeutic methods to best fit where you’re at. I’ve worked with people navigating complex trauma, questions of identity, and spiritual exploration. I’m passionate about supporting the LGBTQ+ community and anyone impacted by systemic oppression.

Together, we’ll cultivate a path rooted in compassion, curiosity, and a deep commitment to your journey of self-discovery where you can heal, grow, and truly thrive.

Throughout her internship, her professional growth and clinical practice have been under the direct supervision and guidance of Katherine Quintero, a Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) She/Her.
