Independently Licensed Clinical Social Worker
ABOUT ME
With more than two decades of experience in various behavioral health settings, I have dedicated my career to helping individuals overcome life’s challenges and achieve emotional well-being. Holding Master’s degrees in Education and Clinical Social Work, I am licensed to provide telehealth therapy in Virginia, Oregon, Florida, and Louisiana. My work spans community, inpatient, and outpatient environments, allowing me to tailor my approach to meet the diverse needs of those I work with.
I am deeply committed to providing a compassionate and inclusive space for individuals, particularly those from the LGBTQIA+ community. As an ally to LGBTQIA+ people, I am especially passionate about supporting transgender and non-binary individuals through their journey of self-discovery, identity exploration, and mental health challenges. Creating a space where all gender identities and sexual orientations are celebrated is central to my practice.
Throughout my career, I have developed expertise in a wide array of areas, including mental health concerns such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. I also specialize in working with individuals navigating complex identity issues, including those in polyamorous or non-monogamous relationships and individuals involved in BDSM or kink lifestyles. Additionally, I provide counseling for individuals with neurodiversity and disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, traumatic brain injuries, and chronic illness, as well as supporting families in crisis intervention.
My counseling approach is grounded in an eclectic blend of therapeutic techniques. I integrate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills Training to help clients reach their goals. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative, person-centered process, one in which clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.
I bring to my practice a wealth of experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, those on the autism spectrum, people experiencing severe mental illness, and families navigating difficult transitions. Whether you’re dealing with mental health challenges, managing a major life change, or looking to develop greater personal insight, I am here to support you in building the life you want to lead.
