ABOUT ME
Hermanett is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) now serving residents of Rhode Island. She received her master's degree in social work from Simmons University and a bachelor's degree in sociology from the College of the Holy Cross. Hermanett has an abundance of experience working with marginalized and oppressed individuals, families, and communities. Her primary area of focus includes but is not limited to trauma-informed care, trauma counseling, cultural/ethnic, LGBTQIA+ related issues.
She is a calm, warm, friendly, committed counselor, eager to help you make necessary changes. Hermanett enjoys helping the whole person and addressing anything that impacts your growth. She makes clients feel comfortable and provide the appropriate support in the most difficult situations. Every session starts with an intake, followed by a treatment plan that allows the exploration of specific goals and interventions that fit your needs. Be it strengths-based, play therapy, emotion/trauma-focused, harm reduction, CBT, or DBT; every intervention model is evidence-based.
Hermanett has worked 12 plus years providing counseling services to adults, children, and their families ranging from ages 5 to 80 years old. I have treated symptoms of anxiety, Bipolar, depression, trauma, life changes, schizophrenia, dual diagnosis, relationship issues, grief, and other psychiatric disorders. Hermanett utilizes a collaborative approach providing a safe, non-judgmental space for you to openly explore and work through challenges.
She will be glad to work together to find the peace, happiness, and stability support you need and explores healthy ways to manage your emotions/stress, understand your feelings, communicate effectively, and improve your self-esteem.
