ABOUT ME
Hannah is a dedicated Clinical Mental Health Counseling Student enrolled at Northwestern University. Her educational focus revolves around the practice of empirically informed counseling, a method that integrates established research findings into her therapeutic approach. This approach is underpinned by both theoretical foundations and cultural awareness, ensuring that her counseling practices are not only evidence-based but also culturally sensitive and appropriate for diverse clients.
Hannah is gaining valuable experience by working closely under the guidance and supervision of experts in the field. This hands-on training allows her to offer clients the most effective and suitable treatment options, helping them lead more enriching and empowered lives.
Hannah's aspiration is to establish herself as a counselor specializing in working with adults in the state of Arizona. Her approach will involve collaborating closely with her clients, employing relevant assessments, and utilizing a range of counseling tools to create a therapeutic experience that genuinely impacts and transforms their lives.
Hannah is driven by a strong desire to become a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona. This licensure will empower her to provide her services professionally and ethically, ensuring the highest standards of care for her clients. Her ultimate goal is to serve adults who are grappling with the effects of both past and recent trauma. Through her counseling expertise, Hannah aims to facilitate their healing process, nurture a sense of empowerment, foster resilience, and guide them in regaining control over their lives.
Her confidence in her counseling abilities is bolstered by the fact that Northwestern University's counseling program holds accreditation from CACREP (Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs). This accreditation signifies the program's rigorous standards and prepares Hannah to effectively address the diverse needs of her future clients.
Prior to her pursuit of a career in counseling, Hannah spent 15 years working in county government, gaining valuable experience with a wide range of populations. This background has contributed to her ability to connect with people from different walks of life and understand the complex challenges they may face.
Hannah's personal journey has seen her grow up in San Francisco and attain an undergraduate degree in Political Science - International Relations from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She further expanded her academic horizons by obtaining her first Master's degree from the London School of Economics, focusing on Comparative Politics with a specialization in Latin America. These experiences have shaped her worldview and provided her with a rich foundation to approach counseling from a diverse and holistic perspective.
Throughout Hannah's internship, Hannah's professional growth and clinical practice have been under the direct supervision and guidance of Kimberly Minton, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) She/Her.
