ABOUT ME

Ginny believes that as human beings, we are often our own worst critics. We may call ourselves weak or lazy when the truth is we are carrying an invisible burden everywhere we go and the weight of it is overwhelming. This can make life seem more difficult, we may feel stuck, and positive change may seem impossible.

Ginny is constantly in awe of her fellow humans and their ability to continue to move forward even when hope seems to be in short supply. Her goal is to provide a space, free of judgment, where she can work together to rediscover your strengths and get your life moving in a more rewarding direction that respects our history, and personal values. She is a strength-based, and person-centered clinician who uses techniques from a variety of clinical models including Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), to meet her client’s needs.

Ginny has over a decade of experience as a substance use counselor in the mental health field. She has a background in special education and graduated from Rhode Island College with a degree in clinical mental health counseling. She is also a proud trans woman who remembers very well what it was like to live in the closet and the mix of joy and fear that was her coming out. She is here for clients of any identity who may be struggling with issues of depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and/or substance use issues. She primarily works with adults 18 and up, though she is also here for younger humans and the families of humans who are transgender and/or gender expansive and are looking for support. She considers it a privilege to be present and support you in your personal growth and positive change.
