Daphney Afolabi

Daphney's passion for advocating for others stems from her personal experience as a young girl migrating from Haiti to the United States. This background gives her a unique perspective and a deep sense of empathy when it comes to understanding and identifying with fellow migrants. It has shaped her worldview and fueled her determination to pursue a career in social work.

Daphney's educational journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Justice Studies and Sociology, as well as a Master's degree in Social Work, both earned from Rhode Island College. These academic accomplishments have provided her with a solid foundation in understanding social dynamics, justice issues, and the complexities of human behavior.

Her professional experience as a Community Integration Specialist at The Providence Center has been instrumental in honing her skills and expanding her knowledge. In this role, Daphney has had the opportunity to work with diverse clients who face chronic mental health challenges and other barriers in their lives. Through her facilitation of various classes, groups, and workshops, she has empowered clients with valuable tools, education, and support to manage their symptoms and develop essential life skills.
