ABOUT ME

Austin's therapeutic style centers on the psychodynamic framework, with a specific emphasis on incorporating Jungian principles to facilitate the integration of unconscious material into conscious awareness. This approach recognizes the profound influence of unconscious thoughts, feelings, and experiences on an individual's psyche and aims to bring them to the forefront of conscious understanding. By exploring and resolving unconscious conflicts, Austin believes that clients can gain insight into their emotions, behaviors, and relationship patterns, ultimately leading to personal growth and healing.

With a Bachelor's degree in psychology and a Master in Social Work, Austin brings a solid foundation in the theoretical underpinnings of human behavior and mental processes to their therapeutic practice. Moreover, Austin is committed to incorporating theories of social justice into their work, recognizing the impact of systemic oppression and discrimination on mental health. They aim to create a safe and inclusive therapeutic space for individuals from diverse backgrounds, offering support to people of various ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities (including transgender individuals, those experiencing gender dysphoria or gender euphoria), and those with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Austin specializes in therapy for adolescents, young adults, and individuals within the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. They recognize the distinct challenges and experiences that these groups encounter and partner with clients to tackle their specific needs and issues.
